Support Built Around the Person

We have a strong focus on teenagers and young adults, while supporting adults of different ages where our team, experience and availability are the right fit. Every arrangement starts with understanding the participant.

Support is shaped around the participant's goals, interests, personality, routine, communication preferences, preferred activities, location and desired level of assistance.

Being straight with you: we're a small team and we won't be the right fit for everyone. We will be upfront about current capacity and whether we may have a suitable worker match.

What Happens After You Enquire

  1. Step 1 — Tell us what support you are looking for.
We'll talk through the participant's goals, suburb, preferred times and what they'd value in a support worker.
  2. Step 2 — Confirm eligibility, capacity and worker suitability.
We confirm the funding type, our capacity, transport needs and whether there may be a suitable worker match.
  3. Step 3 — Agree on the support arrangements.
We settle the schedule, service agreement, transport and invoicing before support begins.

How soon support begins depends on worker availability in the participant's suburb. We'll give you a realistic answer on the first call.

Who Can Use Waymaker Pathways?

Waymaker Pathways is an independent, unregistered disability support provider.

We support:

  • Self-managed NDIS participants — generally the widest choice of providers
  • Plan-managed NDIS participants — your plan manager processes our invoices

NDIA-managed participants generally need registered providers for supports paid through NDIA-managed funding.

Whether a particular support is funded depends on the plan, goals, support categories, budget and individual circumstances — your plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIA is the right place to confirm anything uncertain.

Getting started — common questions

We have a strong focus on teenagers and young adults, and also support adults of different ages where our team, experience and availability are the right fit. Whether we can take someone on depends on their support needs, our capacity in their suburb and whether there's a suitable worker match.

Yes. Self-managed participants generally have the widest choice of providers, including independent and unregistered ones like us.

Yes. Your plan manager processes our invoices according to the arrangement we agree.

No. Waymaker Pathways is an independent, unregistered disability support provider, which is why we work with self-managed and plan-managed participants.

Community access and social participation, young adult support, life skills and independence, daily living and everyday activities, appointment and activity support, and goal-based one-to-one support. We don't provide therapy, clinical, nursing or support coordination services.

Yes — it's an area we focus on, including young people building routines and confidence after finishing school. Support is age-respectful and paced to the individual.

We consider personality, communication style, shared interests, location, availability and relevant experience. We can't promise a perfect match or guarantee ongoing availability — people take leave and circumstances change. If a match isn't right, tell us and we'll adjust.

The Waymaker team reviews your enquiry and contacts you using your preferred method. We'll confirm the funding type, our capacity and whether there may be a suitable worker match. No obligation at any point.

Travel is agreed before support starts — that might mean public transport with the worker alongside, the participant's own transport, or a support worker's vehicle. We're not a medical or patient transport service, and transport isn't automatically funded.

We work across Western Sydney, with dedicated coverage around Fairfield, Blacktown and Penrith. Availability varies by suburb, so it's worth asking.

It depends on worker availability in the participant's suburb and how quickly arrangements are confirmed. We'll give you a realistic timeframe on the first call.

No. We don't ask for a diagnosis, medical history or plan documents. Share only what you're comfortable sharing.

Yes — parents, family members, carers, support coordinators and plan managers are all welcome. There's a field on the form to tell us which applies.

Call 0420 567 794, submit the enquiry form on this page, or use our contact page. Whichever suits you.

Funding availability depends on the participant's plan, goals, support categories, budget and circumstances. Nothing on this page is legal, financial or NDIS funding advice.
