Written by a team that works with NDIS supports every week, not just reads about them
I’m Joe, co-founder of Waymaker Pathways. Every week, our team is out in Western Sydney supporting people with their NDIS plans: at the shops, on the bus, in the kitchen, in the community.
When the new NDIS law passed in August, families everywhere started asking the same questions. What’s changing? Will my plan be cut? What do I do now? The headlines didn’t help much.
So we read the official information, checked the dates, and put it into plain English. That’s this guide.
If you’d like to talk through what it means for your plan, you can book a free Plan Clarity Session at the end. No pressure either way.

Good to know
Questions families ask.
Is it really free?
Yes. The guide is free, and you don't need to be a Waymaker client, now or ever.
Why do you need my phone number?
So we can send you the guide and check in to see if you have questions. If you'd rather we didn't call, just say so and we won't.
Will my NDIS plan be cut?
We can't tell you that, and no one can until your plan is reviewed. The guide explains which budgets are changing, when, and what you can do now to be ready.
Is this official NDIS information?
No. We're a support provider, not the NDIA. The guide is based on official Australian Government and NDIS information from October 2026. Rules can change, so always check ndis.gov.au for the latest.
I'm not in Western Sydney. Is it still useful?
Yes. The guide works for anyone with an NDIS plan, anywhere in Australia. Our Plan Clarity Sessions are only for self-managed and plan-managed families in Western and South-Western Sydney.
What's a Plan Clarity Session?
It's a free chat with Joe or a member of the Waymaker Pathways team, by phone, video or over coffee locally. We'll look at your goals, how your supports are used day to day, and where they could be building more real-world skills. You leave with clear next steps. There's no pressure and no sales pitch.
I'm busy. How long will this take?
About 20 minutes to read the whole guide. Short on time? Read "The Short Version" at the end of each section.
Can I read it on my phone?
Yes. It's a PDF that opens on your phone, and you can print the action plan at home.
I lost my guide. How do I get it back?
Come back to this page on the same phone or computer and it will still be unlocked. On a new device, just sign up again, or call or text us on 0420 567 794.
The changes are rolling out slowly. You have time to get ready, and this guide is a good place to start.
